Desiree Reese Mottard Joins The Moving Steps Foundation
We at the Moving Steps Foundation are very excited to welcome a new member to our family: Desiree Reese Mottard. Desiree has been an active member of the dance and non-profit community in Boston for several years, and she will be working with the women we’ve placed in teaching positions and mentorships in Boston.
She and several other professional dancers and choreographers will also be working with our incarcerated women and former offenders in order to produce a show that we hope to premiere this autumn.
Here’s a bit more about Desiree in her own words:
“Desirée Reese Mottard has had a 17-year professional career as a ballet dancer and teacher. In an effort to expand and build upon her ballet training, she received a certification in Journey Dance, a form of somatic dance movement. In 2014, she finished her B.A. from Lesley University were she earned a degree in Holistic Psychology and a certification in Mindfulness Studies. Her major focused on integrating concepts of the mind, body and spirit into the overall field of psychology. She has run dance programs in Cambridge, MA at after school programs such as The Boys and Girls Club and Margaret Fuller House, as well as at the adult day program at Outside The Lines Studio. Currently she is a core teacher at The Brookline Ballet School where she teaches classical ballet and provides professional training for students of all ages.”
