Join Adrianne for Workshop and Panel Discussion on Dance Movement Therapy
On Thursday, August 14th and Friday, August 15th our Executive Director, Adrianne Tabet, will be participating in Two Days to Deeper Understanding in Dance, a series of workshops and a panel discussion presented by The Dance Complex in Cambridge.
The workshops will look at dance and its therapeutic effects, aspects of the science and practice known as Dance Movement Therapy, and the potential information to be shared and exchanged among those who teach, care-give and recognize movement as a valued and driving element in everyday life. Each workshop will be designed to engage all levels of experience – from those without dance movement therapy or community engagement backgrounds to those with more experience.
Adrianne’s workshop will take place on Friday, August 15th from 12:30 to 2:30 pm and will be an experiential session in which she will share the methods she uses when working with female offenders at the South Middlesex Correctional Center. This workshop will be of particular interest to dance educators, therapists, social service providers and dancers working in environments dealing with community re-entry, addiction and psychological treatments.
A panel/discussion featuring Adrianne and the two other workshop presenters will take place on Thursday, August 14th from 3:40 to 5:00 pm.
